Meredith and Ian started off the year in a big way, relocating from Romeoville, IL to Vancouver, WA (about 15 miles north of Portland, OR) in January due to Meredith's new position at Specialty Coating Systems as Northwest Territory Sales Manager. In this role, she manages customer accounts in Washington, Oregon, Northern California, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, and parts of Canada, although the pandemic limited her usual travel for this year. Ian's company, Atlas Energy Systems, continued their work to raise funding, build and test sample parts, and push to get their first energy converter to market. The pandemic did slow down Ian’s progress as critical suppliers had extended lead times. The Hamilton's celebrated their first wedding anniversary in October. During their first year in the Pacific Northwest, they embraced the PNW lifestyle, and spent their summer hiking, paddle boarding, and lounging on the bank of the Columbia River. While locked in, Meredith and Ian continued their beloved board game nights, and hobbies of tinkering and arts & crafts. In June, they adopted a 1.5 year old female Chihuahua mix, who they named Ginger, and have had fun bringing her on their adventures.
Hopefully 2021 will allow more chances to explore their new cities and welcome visitors.
